چکیده

Non-thermal plasma is one of the new techniques that being focused on in medical world, which used for sterilization because non-thermal known to have a bactericidal effect. Reactive species produced by are antimicrobial. One factor affecting species' reactive composition gas source used. Therefore, this study aimed determine effect from generation SDBD using different sources, namely free air, oxygen, and nitrogen, treating Escherichia Coli bacteria. The flow 1 liter/minute. were characterized Optical Emission Spectrometry (OES). treatment bacteria samples was repeated three times each treatment, then Anova test performed. results indicate bacterial death at decontamination level depends during treatment. Plasma an O2 has more effective inactivation ability, 6 x 107 CFU/ml, compared control, 409 CFU/ml. At same time, with air nitrogen sources 6.33 CFU/ml 41.67 These ROS RNS influences inactivation, where inactivating than

Surface Decontamination by Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma

Background: Dielectric barrier discharge (DBD), a source of non-thermal plasma, is used in surface decontamination. Objective: To study the effect of DBD plasma treatment, we evaluated the effect of plasma exposure time on inactivation of Bacillus subtilis. Results: Applying the DBD plasma to the culture of B. subtilis caused complete sterilization of the surface without any thermal effects. In...

Decomposition of L-valine under nonthermal dielectric barrier discharge plasma.

L-Valine solutions in water and phosphate buffer were treated with nonthermal plasma generated by using a dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) device and the products generated after plasma treatments were characterized by (1)H NMR and GC-MS. Our results demonstrate that L-valine is decomposed to acetone, formic acid, acetic acid, threo-methylaspartic acid, erythro-methlyaspartic acid, and pyruvi...

Fast gas heating in N2/O2 mixtures under nanosecond surface dielectric barrier discharge: the effects of gas pressure and composition.

The fractional electron power quickly transferred to heat in non-equilibrium plasmas was studied experimentally and theoretically in N(2)/O(2) mixtures subjected to high electric fields. Measurements were performed in and after a nanosecond surface dielectric barrier discharge at various (300-750 Torr) gas pressures and (50-100%) N(2) percentages. Observations showed that the efficiency of fast...
